OUR STORY

OUR BEGINNING

UMS started out in 1996 as a credit control operator specialising in electricity disconnections.

OUR INDIGENT REGISTER

By 1997, we launched our authentic register, and subsequent management processes, to assist local government in delivering basic services to the more vulnerable sectors of society.

INDIGENT MANAGEMENT

We understand that the value of the indigent register lies in its constant upkeep and accuracy. As a result, our operational channels are built around our ability to physically and electronically verify indigent information.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT

At our core, we are project managers who operate at ground level. Constant two-way communication, awareness campaigns, and education programmes are significant drivers of our service delivery.

REVENUE PROTECTION

Since then, we have further extended our services to include revenue protection and revenue consulting services.

GEO-SPATIAL TECHNOLOGY

In 2016, we launched our ‘SMART’ technology platform. Its function is to collect, manage, and store data using spatial technology. For our clients, this has meant that workflows, consumer data, meter audits and installations are seamlessly integrated to enhance data management and increase revenue collectability models.

COMMUNITY IMPACT

We continue to champion the rights of all communities to have an equitable share in the economy. We do this by providing individuals with transferable skills to uplift communities and drive employment.
