We engage the community from the onset to garner support and involvement. After the necessary community buy-in, geophysical surveys are conducted to determine the most appropriate drilling targets, i.e., a compilation of Bill of Quantities, consulting geohydrologists on the requirement and appropriate drilling techniques.
BOREHOLE
SOLUTION
A borehole is an asset which can last between up to 80 years with low initial maintenance costs. For this to happen, the process must be undertaken correctly. Inzalo UMS has a solution, which includes drilling of borehole and establishing associated services, to ensure all communities have easy access to portable water the need to travel vast distances.

WATER AND ELECTRICITY SERVICES
BENEFITS

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
DRILLING
We advise on the best location to drill the borehole considering environmental factors such as power lines, pipelines, and underground cabling. We work to a recognised SABS standard and by high safety practices. The drilling rig and all accompanying tools and hardware are transported to site and drilling commences at the recommended drilling
target. To determine the correct pump for your needs, we provide you with proper yield, drawdown, and step tests. Any electrical work to be undertaken is done by a qualified electrician to complete the installation.
YIELD AND PUMP TESTING
Testing is done after water has been reached. Testing determines the yield of the borehole which ultimately determines its sustainability. The test will indicate the maximum sustained volume of water to be abstracted per hour to ensure constant and sustainable water supply.
PUMP INSTALLATION
Several options are available depending on your requirements. These include solar pumps, electric pumps, and hand pumps.
WATER RETICULATION
We are equipped to cover the design, operation and maintenance of water distribution, stormwater, and wastewater collection systems. In communities where water reticulation is especially scarce, we install a tank at the borehole which acts as a reservoir able to service standpipes, washbasins or both where applicable. If water Reticulation exists, the tank can supplement the current water supply.
WATER QUALITY
Water quality is tested in a SABS-accredited laboratory and at each borehole site to determine whether the water is fit for consumption. In most cases, borehole water is safer than water from dams and rivers; however, in rare cases where it is not, we conduct educational programmes on how to consume the water, as well as distribute chlorine tablets to the community.
